The stairlift rail sits on feet that are installed into the tread of your step. We do not use the walls for these installations.

Stairlifts can range in price depending on fit, function, whether it’s straight or curved, number of landings and other selected features. Straight stairlifts tend to be more affordable while curved lifts require custom rails. Scheduling a free consultation will help to validate the right product and allow for accurate pricing.

Insurance typically does not cover stairlifts, but you would need to contact your provider. Although we do not directly bill to insurance providers, we will provide a detailed invoice that you can submit for payment. If they offer financing, this can be presented. They could also share local agency contact information as a possible source for funding.

Most straight stairlifts can be installed in 2–4 hours. Curved models may take longer due to custom fabrication. While we keep stairlifts in stock for prompt installation, custom models do take longer and can normally be shipped with in three weeks.

Stairlifts are anchored to the stair treads using small screws providing a more sound and sturdy installation. When removed, only minor, repairable holes are left behind.

Clearances vary by model, but rails are designed to run close to the wall to maintain walking space. The rail system is always installed as close to the wall as possible per manufacturer’s recommendation. This typically varies by brand and style but the Mobility Consultant can explain this once a product is selected.

The stairlift is designed so that the seat rotates at the top of the stairs to make it safer while entering or exiting the seat. If your staircases has a turn, the stairlift can be custom designed to accommodate the turn.
