“The entire process from start to finish was quite simply outstanding.
I had called a medical supply company that I trust and asked if they knew of a local company that could install a stairlift if needed. They recommended 101 mobility. I then called and made an appointment to have a salesperson visit the site and provide some ideas and solutions. Matthew, the president, was responsive, energetic and kind. He shared images of other examples similar to our stair design and provided a quote at that appointment.
We held off making a decision as I thought we had more time. Unfortunately, two months later my husband was diagnosed with a severe COVID breakthrough infection. He was hospitalized for several weeks in ICU at our local hospital. The hospital became overrun with a fourth wave of infections. The immediate crisis passed for my spouse but there was no room in the hospital to tier down his recovery. The very caring hospital staff would only allow me to bring him home to continue his recovery if I had a way to provide him a safe place to convalesce with mobility aids that we knew he would require.
At 5:30 a.m I called the phone at Mobility 101 and explained the need for help. I then called the salesperson Matthew at 6:00 a.m. At 8:00 a.m I received an update phone call from the office manager Jenny. At 10 a.m the service manager Brad and one another technician began installation. They would not even stop for lunch so that I could bring my husband home and another very ill patient could have that ICU bed.
Brad gave me his cell phone number so that if there were any issues he would immediately drive from Scarborough to support us.
I was able to bring my husband home Thanksgiving Eve. He is gradually regaining his strength and recovering. He watches the birds at the bird feeder or is enjoying the holiday lights. The stairlift as a tool is very important for his continued recovery.
This has been a very challenging time made so much more tolerable because of the expertise and compassion of many caring people-including mobility 101.
