On Wednesday, September 7th, 2016, Harmar kicked off a new partnership with Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a nonprofit organization whose goal is “to give every child with mobility challenges the best opportunity to live life at its’ fullest” (source).  The organization works by providing well-fitted, well-equipped wheelchairs to children in need, along with ancillary equipment such as ramps, wheelchair lifts, and general home modifications.

Harmar is a leading manufacturer of accessibility and mobility solutions, including auto lifts, stairlifts, platform lifts, and more. Based out of Sarasota, FL, Harmar kicked off the partnership with a donation to a local boy, Gregory.

Gregory is 13 years old and has Muscular Dystrophy. Harmar’s AL301XLHD extra-large heavy-duty Fusion Lift is the only outside auto lift that is compatible with Gregory’s Quickie QM710SC power wheelchair and the family’s 2013 Toyota 4Runner. Having the lift now allows Gregory’s family to transport his power wheelchair nearly anywhere, meaning Gregory can now travel as well.

101 Mobility is a leading provider of accessibility and mobility equipment, and one of Harmar’s top dealers. While Harmar manufactures the equipment, companies such as 101 Mobility sell, install and service it. When Harmar announced that they would be donating the auto lift, Chuck Vollmer, owner of 101 Mobility’s franchise in Sarasota, FL, jumped at the opportunity and donated the installation of the auto lift. He also contributed a cash donation to Wheelchairs 4 Kids to help the organization continue its mission to provide lifts for kids.

101 Mobility looks forward to continuing to partner with Harmar in future donations to Wheelchairs 4 Kids.
