It was an eye-opener, and Don and Mobility 101 (which mom's PT used for her mother) stood out. We interviewed 3 other companies, and they all would have made excellent used car salesmen. One showed up in dirty clothes and brushed off any need to take measurements. (His wife, i assume, waited in the car for him). Another conceded that his prices were the highest around but insisted it was justified (although the reviews did not corroborate this). A third pulled a classic bait and switch, i.e., we started with a pre-owned model and when it was much older than originally quoted, he provided a "deep discount" on a new one. I found these others on Home Advisor. Don from Mobile 101 was a straight shooter, took careful measurements, and pointed out options that he suggested we didn't really need. He was very professional and not the least bit slick. We bought pre-owned chairs that were about 1.5 years old at a very competitive price. Installation was thorough and smooth.”

What I liked the most about this company was their lack of a high pressure sales pitch that I experienced with other firms. The priority of other companies seemed to only be to have a signed contract. When the sales representative Don Belcher, from 101 Mobility arrived at my home, he was genuinely concerned to help us make the best decision. He was absolutely compassionate, kind and a great salesperson. He offered alternative suggestions, taking his time to educate us on the product and choices we could make. Most homes require a straight rail system however due to the width and configuration of our stairs we needed a customized unit. Sales representatives from several companies indicated that a unit could not be installed due to width constraints. A few said it was doable however there would be a minimum three month wait. 101 Mobility was not only able to complete the project but did it in less than a third of the time quoted by other business. When we decided to move ahead with 101 Mobility, the owner, John Michielini came to take the required measurements. I liked him immediately as he was very concerned to insure a successful end to this project. John did not ask for a down payment until the engineering staff evaluated his projections and indicated it was possible. Both the sales representative Don and the owner John from 101 Mobility invested quite a bit of time in this undertaking without seeking payment until they knew the job could proceed. All other companies requested payment up front. On the day of the install, John was on-site with his team to make sure the unit was installed properly. The installers were efficient, polite and very considerate. Don Belcher the sales representative followed up with a very sweet and sincere thank you card after the job was completed. That decision should have been made at the contract signing which would have saved confusion. 2. Next to arrive was the grab bar specialist. He asked for the exact locations of the bars to which we could not really respond until the stairlift was installed. He was sent away and had to come back. He should have come last. 3. Stairlift was missing a piece so we had to wait about an hour for it to arrive, then the grab bars were installed so the install took much longer than necessary. However, the installers were very courteous and respectful. The lift seems to be sturdy.”

He finally found it, and then there were delays in part design and construction that resulted in a 2 month delay since contract and initial pre payment made. We had a quote from another company, who was equipped with all sparts and could deliever in 7 ddys and he was amarginally higher than yours, and you got the job. I was planning on purchasing 2 separate ramps but I decided on just one. So he deducted the smaller ramp but did not take into account the ancillary material for the second ramp. He left that material on the invoice. If I didn't catch it; I would have been overcharged. I believe it was a honest mistake. I do appreciate on how the company itemized the bill to see exactly what I'm buying. I did ask if I ever wanted the second ramp would I be charged $550 install and $125 freight, the salesperson said he would discount it since I'm a return customer. I'm not sure what that discount would be. I bought a 12' ramp with a 4' X 4 'platform. I'm not sure why I was charged freight when my ramp was brought to my house in the back of their van.”
