Within 10 minutes Teri did and at 6:30pm Vin and Bill arrived at our hotel. They were able to talk to our technician in NC who was able to assist them in the fixing of the lift. Even though the job could not be completed that evening, Bill returned the next afternoon and finished it. It was hot, it was humid, it took along time but Vin and Bill did the job. “The installer left the cut out tub piece upstairs in the hallway, and empty coffee cups too. The tub cutout piece was heavy to move, so I worry that elderly people would struggle to remove that. In our case, a younger family member carried it out to the trash. In addition, the tub cut operation left heavy dark steel dust/residue on the grout, tile and caulking of the tub enclosure which was unsightly, and hard to remove. Perhaps taping a plastic sheet around the tub tile enclosure before the cutting operation might make cleanup easier. Finally, the installer did not test one of the chair's operation before leaving, and if he had, he would have discovered that the chair's armrest impacts the stair handrail when in the folded-down position for use. We did need a call back to adjust the lift installation. Finally, the installer was an hour and a half late to the installation appointment with no call from the office to let us know. A call would have been courteous. These comments are not intended to to be complaints, but suggestions for improved service. “Installation was horrible! Bolts not seated. Bolts missing completely! Installer could not properly install a handrail and put more than 18 holes in the corner of my step. Who’s going to repair that? How can it be repaired properly? The entire staircase would have to be re-carpeted after the step is replaced. While my carpet wasn’t new it didn’t have 18 holes in it before you people came along. The wiring was shotty also. The transformer is attached to the staircase with wire straps. This installer didn’t even have two wood screws with him to attach that transformer properly. “For some reason the batteries completely died. I was told if I had caught the problem sooner the batteries could have been recharged. If the chair is parked at the end of the rail, isn't it supposed to charge? It would seem to me that if the batteries died as the man said, there is a problem that caused that to happen. The tech never checked for or reported a problem. He simply changed the batteries. Since the chair ran after that, he was finished. He kicked something that sounded like a screw on the floor. He picked the item up, glanced at the chair then put the item in his pocket. As it turns out, it was a screw that he put in his pocket rather than find where it was missing from. I now have a motor/battery compartment with one loose screw and one missing. That is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I called the office and told the lady to have the screw sent back to me. I again have the problem on the chair beeping once it is parked at the end of the rail. That should not happen, yet the problem was never addressed.
