101 Mobility is a national leader in mobility and accessibility equipment, and the team at 101 Mobility Charleston is excited to bring the products and expertise to the “Holy City.” They will be offering professional advice and consultations as well as service, sales, rentals, and installation. Their core products include stair lifts, ramps, vertical platform lifts, and patient lifts.

They have also brought on Brian Kuhar as Mobility Specialist. Brian is retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and brings a high level of operations and leadership to the team. The “Brian and Brian team” has proven a valuable asset to the team and consistently meets and exceeds the high level of customer care and professionalism expected by the management team.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
The ownership team has experience managing Medical Comfort Systems, a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Company located in Lexington, SC. Medical Comfort Systems specializes in Respiratory Equipment, and has been in business for over 34 years. Each owner has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in DME and respiratory products.
With their combined backgrounds, the team discovered a void in the industry that they set out to fill.
This background lends them a great depth of insight into the industry as well as their customers’ needs. They decided to help fill this void by opening franchise business locations with proven processes that were focused around helping individuals with medical or special needs stay comfortably in their homes.
In 2015, they opened their first franchise called Caring Senior Services of Columbia, which allows provides in-home caregivers to elderly and disabled individuals.
In early 2016, they purchased Caliber Care + Transport, a non-emergency medical transportation company that helps individuals who require wheelchairs or the use of a stretcher get from their homes to doctors’ appointments or other events.
WHY 101 MOBILITY?
In late 2016, the team made the next logical investment – a 101 Mobility franchise. With the addition of a full-service access and mobility equipment company, the team could now further assist their clients. Between their businesses, they could provide home-care to individuals and help them leave their homes as needed, and now they could make those homes safer and more comfortable with products such as stair lifts, ramps, and patient lifts.
All four of their businesses focus around their core value of providing compassionate care to patients in their homes. They strive to build relationships in their local communities to help identify folks in need of their services, and look forward to building and growing our new franchise opportunities to complete the compassionate circle of care.
