101 Mobility Opens First Franchise Location in the Hoosier State

101 Mobility is excited to announce that it will be opening its first franchise in the state of Indiana. Located in the capital city of Indianapolis, the location will be perfectly situated to service both the greater Indianapolis market and central Indiana. This newest location is owned and operated by the husband and wife team, Jon and Kerry Thomas, and their business partner, Ed Pilkerton.

101 Mobility is a national leader in mobility and accessibility equipment, and the team at 101 Mobility Indianapolis is excited to bring the products and expertise to the Hoosier State. They will be offering professional advice and consultations as well as service, sales, rentals, and installation. Their core products include stair lifts, ramps, vertical platform lifts, and patient lifts.

With combined experience in healthcare marketing and sales, customer service, and business operations, the ownership team is eager to help Indianans regain their independence and mobility and age in place.

Previous Experience

Jon Thomas is the location’s president, who will oversee Sales and Business Development. With over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the healthcare industry, he has a great deal of medical knowledge and has even worked directly with Surgeons in the Operating Room. This experience has granted him a thorough understanding of what individuals go through when having surgery, including how dramatically it can affect their lives after being discharged. With a patient and customer-focused approach, Jon will combine his background with his product knowledge to fully understand his customers and help provide them with the absolute best solutions to enable them to lead active, independent lives.

Kerry Thomas will act as the Business’s Vice President and will oversee Customer Service while developing long-term relationships with local area businesses. Kerry has previous experience as the founder and owner of KLT Graphics, a successful Graphic Arts Company. She established her firm in 1998, and quickly grew the business from supporting a single client to servicing a large portfolio of clients throughout the Upper Midwest. Her success can be directly attributed to her customer service-focused approach, which she will maintain and expand upon in her newest role at 101 Mobility. Kerry is looking forward to ensuring that each and every interaction customers have with her team exceeds expectations and improves lives.

Ed Pilkerton is the location’s Vice President of Operations, and he will be providing leadership in Business Operations and Finance. Ed has previous experience as a franchise owner with a franchised retail haircut salon. Over the last 15 years, he has opened five franchises, each wildly successful. He has worked with new franchisees and hopes to use his expertise to help Jon and Kerry achieve the same level of success to help their 101 Mobility business thrive.

Why 101 Mobility?

Several years ago, the Thomases and Mr. Pilkerton set out in search of business opportunities that would make use of their combined experience in healthcare marketing, sales, customer service, and business operations. They discovered 101 Mobility, and were immediately intrigued. Not only would the business allow the trio to capitalize on their individual skill sets, they could do so in an industry where they would be able to drastically improve customers’ lives. They saw that their beloved fellow Hoosiers were aging rapidly, and there was a void where they had few to no choices for solutions to help them recover from surgeries at home or age in place. Drawn by the desire to provide options to those looking for alternatives to nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, they determined that a 101 Mobility franchise was the natural choice and eagerly applied for their very own franchise.

Set to open in October 2016, the 101 Mobility Indianapolis team looks forward to providing top-quality mobility solutions with expert advice from their office centrally located on Bash Street in Indianapolis.
