Custom Wheelchair Costumes Raise Halloween Spirits!

For the third year in a row, the 101 Mobility® team built custom wheelchair costumes for the special needs class at Codington Elementary School in Wilmington, NC! From a dazzling cupcake to a fierce Red Baron costume, the kids flaunted their transformation in a school-wide parade with parents, families, teachers, the media, and the entire student body. Check out photos of all of the costumes (and what a fun time we had!) below.

Which was your favorite costume? Tell us in the comments!

A baker pushes a gorgeous pink cupcake throughout the streets of the parade! Check out those sprinkles, and especially the cherry hat on top!

Wow! This Red Baron pilot and his (brother!) copilot are soaring through the parade crowd. We especially love the hat and goggles touch!

Surprise! Elsa and Olaf from the hit Disney flick Frozen stopped by in their glamorous icy carriage. Sierra’s smile says it all!

Codington Elementary teachers and students alike were ecstatic and glowing as they made their way around the area to celebrate with families, friends, and coworkers.

Michael braved the harsh seawater and showed up in this dashing Shark Cage–complete with a creature right on top. Way to go Michael!

Choo-choo! Watch out–the 101 Mobility® Express train is coming through–with 3 cute students in tow!

Here we have Vanessa Bishop (right), the special needs educator at Codington Elementary, a cupcake chef (center), and, of course, the Queen of Hearts!

We want to send a HUGE thank you to WWAY News and WECT News, two local Wilmington news stations. We loved hanging out with you, and we hope you return next year!

From all of us at 101 Mobility®, we hope that everyone at Codington Elementary has a super fun and safe Halloween. Designing, building, and delivering these wheelchair costumes to Ms. Bishop’s class is the highlight of our year, and we can’t wait to see what costumes are in store for you next year!
